Quote of the Week
“We would expect
council to honour their commitments.”
- Lethbridge College
- official statement
on the Crowsnest Centre

The Crowsnest Museum is filled with countless artifacts from the history of our valley, photos and documents and items both everyday and extraordinary stretching back through the years. But life at the museum has been anything but old this summer, in part thanks to the three summer staff who have been hard at work within these historic walls.
Stephanie Hamilton, Matthew Heisie, and Kassie McGarry make up this year’s summer staff at the museum, and the trio have found themselves involved in all aspects of its operation, each bringing their unique skills to bear on Crowsnest Pass history.
“There’s never a dull moment at the museum,” says Hamilton.
“Especially with these two, I’ve found,” adds McGarry.
Hamilton recently moved to the Pass from Lethbridge, and decided that the work at the museum would be both a great way to meet people in the community and to learn more about the area’s history. She says that she has been studying history of various kinds for the past ten years, which naturally led to interest in the museum.
“The archives here are incredible,” she says. “It’s incredible how much stuff is in here.”
Hamilton says that her favourite part of life at the museum is the numerous stories, both those that come in with visitors and those that are uncovered in the museum’s vast archives.
Heisie brings a different perspective to the museum. He is going into Grade 12 this year, with a focus on sciences, computer sciences, and engineering, and he brings this technological knowledge into his work.
