The second half of a husband and wife doctor duo has arrived in the Crowsnest Pass, and was scheduled to begin work at the Mountainside Medical Clinic on Monday, February 8.
Dr. Mia du Rand, a South African doctor, will be accepting new patients and is looking forward to working in the Pass. She arrived in Canada just before Christmas, and spent time on orientation in Pincher Creek, along with helping out at the local hospital, to learn the ins and outs of the Canadian medical system.

She originally studied medicine in Pretoria, South Africa, and worked for three years in Port Elizabeth and Cape Town. She says that she enjoys seeing all types of patients, and especially likes children. She worked six months in pediatrics in South Africa, and also did a lot of anesthetics, which she hopes to continue here.
