The Crowsnest Pass Atom Thunder did their community proud at the Atom C provincial tournament in Viking, Alberta, held March 18 - 21. The local team, facing other provincial zone champions they had never played before, took second place in the tournament and only lost a single game, in the final round, while doing so.
The Atom Thunder played two games on March 19, defeating host team Viking by a 12-6 score, followed by a 5-2 victory over Athabasca.
The next game, played on March 20, resulted in a 3-3 tie with Manning. With a record of 2-0-1, the Atom Thunder entered the semi-finals against Irma. The game was hard-fought and close, ending in overtime with a 6-5 victory for the Thunder.
This got the local team into the final round against Marwayne, who had won all four of their games to that point. Marwayne became the only team to beat the Crowsnest Pass at the tournament, winning by a 6-2 score.

With their second place finish at provincials, the team showed off tremendous skill and represented their community well. They received the Source For Sports PlaySMART Award for the tournament.
K's Thomson led the team through the tournament with 12 points, followed by Ty Anctil with 11. Anctil led the team in goals with 10.
Brock Wakaluk tallied 7 points, 5 for Cole Draper, 2 for Corbin Fraser, 2 for Tucker Evans, 2 for Alex Ewen, 2 for Chase Snider, and one point apiece for Brady Douglas, and Jarrett Kress.
Goaltender Brady Douglas finished with a 2-1 record, a 4.33 goals against average, and a .867 save percentage. Goaltender Mackenzie Fairbrother-Skinner had a 1-0-1 record, a 4.50 goals against average, and a .862 save percentage.
