Suspects arrested after a
four-day crime spree

The Elk Valley RCMP has arrested two male suspects in there 20s following a four-day crime spree through the Crowsnest Pass, the Elk Valley and Cranbrook.
From Aug 9-12, the pair amassed more than 20 criminal charges including theft, possession of stolen property and mischief.
Elk Valley RCMP Sgt. Will Thien, said they were both apprehended driving stolen vehicles within the span of an hour on Aug. 12.
Thien said many of the charges are related to property related and that the suspects do not reside in any of the affected communities.

“They decided to go to a different jurisdiction and reach a bunch of havoc,” said Thien. “We have evidence tying them to these crimes. We certainly don’t need them here.”
Thien said the suspects are being held in custody at a 24-hour guard facility in Cranbrook until they face Crown Council on Aug. 28.
He added that it will be up to prosecutors to decide whether to pursue all of the charges.
