The RumRunner will be celebrating eleven years in business on Friday, Feb. 13, and restaurant staff are asking patrons to put away their out-dated superstitions, come out, and enjoy some canapés.
The appreciation event will feature champagne sampling, live entertainment, complimentary hors d’oeuvres, canapés and drink and food specials.
These treats would convince Friday the 13th series arch villain Jason Voorhees lay down his machete and pick up eating utensils if he were real, says RumRunner general manager Tim May.
The day after The RumRunner celebrates their customers is Valentines Day and the establishment has plans for both romantic lovers and forlorn singles.

Valentines Day specials including an appetizer of fresh pesto shrimp, a soup of the day, and a special of either prime rib or baked swordfish.
So forget your broken heart, come out, and eat some fish.
A 24-year veteran of the British Army, May completed two tours of duty in Iraq and has cooked all over the world. He says The RumRunner is a hub of diversity in the Pass.
“We’ve got chefs from Morocco, Scotland, England and Canada. They bring a lot of experience to the table,” says May.
The team is rounded out by kitchen manager Nikki May, owner Jody Wood, servers from as far away as New Zealand and their amazing bar manager known simply as Tikki.
The RumRunner is located along Highway 3 in Coleman.
