Who doesn't need encouragement?
Crowsnest Pass Herald Front Page
Ever since I’ve had the pleasure of returning home to the Crowsnest Pass and starting this column, I’ve been approached in the street by a fair number of people who express to me their support for the content and ideology behind what I write about. It seems to be resonating with a lot of the readers out there and to be honest, it really arouses my self-confidence because of it.
Whether it’s their admiration for me having the courage to talk about my past, or their gratitude for helping them realize something significant about themselves, the fact is that it’s overwhelmingly rewarding for me to feel that what I’m doing here is validated through their compliments. And honestly, who doesn’t need a little encouragement in their lives?
So I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all for encouraging me to continue the path that I’m on, especially those who’ve taken the time to actually approach me. It always inspires faith and confidence in yourself and your abilities when other people recognize the effort that you put into your work, so I’d like to thank you all for your support. It really is truly awesome to be able to feel like I’m welcomed in this community and to feel encouraged by everyone, including my peers at the Pass Herald, to continue in my efforts.

It sure brightens up your day when you are validated and recognized by the people around you, so I thought that if I shared how this has affected me, it may inspires you readers to consider all the other people in your lives that maybe deserve some acknowledgment too. We all seek the approval of the people in our lives, so maybe we could all start by paying it forward to the ones who truly deserve our consideration. I personally know several people who I should make an extra effort towards and I’m sure you all could think of your own peers who could use some encouragement as well.
In my own perspective, I choose to believe that positivity is infectious and once manifested, can spiral out like wildfire to everyone willing enough to give and receive it. It’s what cultivates harmony within yourself and out to the world around you, creating the experiences that unfold for you. It’s what literally allows you to create your own destiny if you can step outside yourself enough to initiate that positive flow into the universe, and I promise you that it will return to you three fold.
Given the time consuming pace of our lives, it seems rare when we have a spare moment for ourselves, let alone anyone else. It also doesn’t help that we are all naturally obsessed with our own lives. However, if a few simple words in passing can inspire such a sincere feeling inside of me, then it must work for everyone else out there too. So take some time this week to let others know just how they add to your life, and let’s shift the winds of positivity together.
