Dessert met breakfast and the results were delicious at the 2015 Lifestyle and Outdoor Adventure Show at the Coleman Arena this weekend.
Three inches of cupcake smothered in a mixture of maple syrup and icing and garnished with a piece of bacon, the maple-bacon cupcake might be the best pastry crossover since the glazed donut breakfast sandwich.
“They’re supposed to taste like pancakes, syrup and bacon in one delicious cupcake,” says Erica Warlow, co-owner of Bamboo Bistro, home of the maple-bacon cupcake.
Warlow and hundreds of other entrepreneurs and organizers were manning over 116 booths.

Federal Green Party candidate Romy Tittel was there, as was Brok’N Spoke Bike Shoppe out of Fort Macleod, Crumbs Cakery was promoting their new shop in Fernie and Scholarsedge Painting announced they were gearing up for another season.
Event organizer Cathy Ward says they welcomed over 700 visitors on Friday, which surpasses last year’s figure.
Lifestyle Show Committee chair Sylvia Kilford says the show is a good opportunity for small businesses that might not have a storefront to get exposure.
It also reminds consumers that there is greater diversity of products available in the Pass than they might think.
