A new Company will soon be opening its doors In the Crowsnest Pass. Their business card simply states their agenda. “ It’s not how old you are but how you are old.”

The Company is fittingly referred to as Crowsnest Companion. Terri Lorrain, owner and operator of Crowsnest Companion explained, “Crowsnest Companion is dedicated to supporting independence in seniors. Particularly those that want to age in place or at home.” She went on to say, “However we will provide care and services to seniors who are already in facilities or long term care.”

These are non-medical services and although are supported by, are not affiliated with Alberta Health Services. “We just try to pick up the slack. So many seniors need someone to come in and help them with their domestic needs such as; meal preparation, yard work, laundry, transportation, hair and nail care and of course companionship.” Said Lorrain. She started the process of building the company in January and is overwhelmed by the community support.

Lorrain has also had interest from impressive candidates who are seeking work with Crowsnest Companions and have history in the healthcare industry.

Lorrain explained some exciting aspects of the company. “One of the unique things about our company is that, once a client chooses their caregiver, that person is dedicated to that client. So whatever services you require, the companion you know and trust will be there. We want to build very strong relationships with our senior clients.” Lorrain also said, “We are available for anyone requiring our services, not just seniors.

Anyone with disabilities, young families, or even people with small children and new babies.” Crowsnest Companion will be located on Main Street Blairmore as of, September 1st and can be contacted at, 403-563-0408. Lorrain also encourages anyone with questions to visit the website at www.crowsnestcompanion.ca
