Eight-year-old Claira Murray has cerebral palsy but its not stopping her from giving back.

The young girl has been collecting pop can tabs, which she donates to help manufacture wheelchairs.

Because of her condition, the young girl has a lot of doctors’ appointments in Calgary and she brings the collected tabs with her where she donates them to a list of charities.

“It makes the trips to Calgary more fun. She gets to do that instead of just going to doctor,” said her mother Tracy Murray. “She thinks its fun.”

The cause is close to Claira’s heart because she herself needs to use a wheelchair some of the time. She was inspired to begin this pop can campaign by her friend who had cancer and has since passed away and her uncle who also collected tabs.

Several businesses in the Pass will have collection stations, so save your pop can tabs and donate. We will have a collection station here at the Pass Herald too.
