Pass Herald welcomes second reporter
Crowsnest Pass Herald Front Page
Pass Herald welcomes a second reporter to the office, Jeff Chambers.
Well it’s been an amazing couple of years here at the Pass Herald.

This year is our 86th anniversary and we are chugging along, producing what I think is our best product ever.

We truly are the voice of this beautiful community and for the first time we are thrilled to welcome a second reporter into the office.

I would like to introduce you all to Jeff Chambers. When Ezra went on holidays last year Jeff filled in for a month. We were pleasantly surprised by his abilities. He wrote well, spoke well, did fantastic photos and the consensus in the office and the praise from our subscribers told us that if we ever required a second reporter he was the one.

Ezra is still with us, he’s part of our family and he’s not going anywhere. He is ingrained in our little community and our paper. Just last weekend he participated in the Slush Cup. If you look closely at page two photos you will see him video taping himself skimming across the water at the ski hill.

Owning two newspapers in the valley, we are privy to the feel of our two communities. They are indeed different communities in many ways but the one thing both have in common is a feeling of closeness that one can only find in small town Canada.

Both Ezra and Jeff will be out and about in our community. We will continue covering events in the community, but now with two reporters we have even more we can offer to you the reader.

The Pass Herald is your community newspaper and ultimately it is your voice that we are here to report on. If you have an event you want us to cover, let us know and we will be there. If there is something you are interested in write a Letter to the Editor. If you are worried about ‘ruffling a few feathers’ send us a ‘Brick and Bouquet’. We keep your name on file but we don’t let the public know whom you are. As long as it’s not liable we will print it. In fact we enjoy printing them. It certainly starts a conversation.

Every year I have to do an audited circulation to prove how many people read the Pass Herald. We have to keep track of how many subscriptions we sell, how many papers we sell through business and outlet sales. We have to prove how many people read the Pass Herald. It’s not a give-a-way; it is bought and paid for by you the reader.

If you have any stories, contact us at 403-562-2248 or email us at and we will be there, with double the coverage.
