Livingstone Range School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of administrators in several schools for the 2017-2018 year.

Dave Fender, who has been principal of Canyon Elementary School in Pincher Creek for the past two years, will be moving into the role of Assistant Principal at W.A. Day Elementary, joining Principal Richard Feller on the leadership team. Mr. Fender’s decision to move to a mix of teaching and administrative duties was announced April 7, 2017.

Assuming the role of principal at Canyon will be Paul Pichurski, who is currently serving as acting principal of Crowsnest Consolidated High School in Coleman. Prior to his placement at CCHS, Mr. Pichurski was principal at Isabelle Sellon School and brings eight years of administrative experience to Canyon, out of a nineteen-year teaching career.

The position of principal at Isabelle Sellon School in Blairmore is currently undetermined for the 2017-2018 year. The opening will be advertised and a search for principal will begin immediately.

In keeping with our regular practice when hiring school principals, a principal profile information-gathering sheet will be available soon at the Isabelle Sellon School office. This form will provide an opportunity for staff, school council and parents to provide input into defining the desired qualities for the new principal, and that information will be taken into our deliberations during the selection process.
