The 5th Annual Christmas Tea and Fashion Show at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church Hall promises great food, fun for the whole family, and prizes to be won.

This year’s “cowboy Christmas” theme is aptly manifested in a western-wear fashion show, a hearty lunch, and a meet-the-author event of the children’s book Cowboy Cody.

Back Country Butchering caters the main course this year with a barbecue beef on a bun, baked beans and coleslaw as a side courtesy of the Holy Trinity Parish hall committee, and Cinnamon Bear’s classic cinnamon buns for dessert.

Lunch is followed by a fashion show with designs from High Country Western Wear in Pincher Creek. Five ladies from the community will be showing off fancy jeans, beautiful button down shirts, embellished jackets, shiny belt buckles and cowboy hats typical of western and cowboy-style clothing.

In line with the cowboy theme is a book signing by Becky Wigemyr, author of children’s book Cowboy Cody about a city boy with a country heart.

All funds raised will go towards continuing to enhance the Holy Trinity Catholic Church Hall amenities, like painting the kitchen, having the floor done professionally, and installing equipment that will improve the sound for performing musicians.

Various renovations have already been completed within the past few years, with the installation of a new bar, a new chandelier, fresh paint and new fire extinguishers and stoves.

“Once the hall is in nice enough shape that people start to rent it, the money generated through the rent and our fundraising would go back to the church for their operations,” says Pat Rypien, one of the event organizers and member of the fundraising committee for the church.

The Holy Trinity Catholic Church Hall is located at 13126 21 Avenue in Blairmore. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at Copy Magic for $20 until November 15, and $25 at the door.
