The Coleman Seniors Drop-In Centre Association has a new event: Coffee Time, every Thursday morning from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

“It’s a chance to visit and socialize with others. We provide coffee and a cookie for a nominal charge. The Coleman Seniors have a beautiful center and were trying to use it more,” says Diane Simpson, a member of the Coleman Seniors Drop-In Centre Association.

The centre has recently opened an addition to the centre that has a pool and shuffleboard table. Simpson says that the Coffee Time event will bring exposure to all the facilities offered by the centre.

“We’d really like to see the facilities utilized so maybe if we started up a Coffee Time, people will come to realize what activities are available here,” she says.

As we approach the winter season (or already reached it), driving to the Bellevue Seniors Centre to attend that group’s teatime isn’t always an option, or at least not a convenient one. So the proximity of this event is important.

Everyone is welcome to attend Coffee Time; you don’t have to be a Coleman Seniors Drop-In Centre Association member or a senior.

The drop-in centre is located between the Crowsnest Museum and the APP Barracks in Coleman. The Coleman Seniors Drop-In Centre Association also runs Whist Wednesday in the afternoons and puts on the very popular Strawberry Tea for Canada Day celebrations.

The yearly membership fee is $10 and they currently have approximately 60 members.
